Job Title: Metrology Process Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Metrology Process Engineer to join our team in Beaverton, OR. As a key member of our manufacturing fab, you will be responsible for designing and developing measurement methodologies and tooling used for electrical, dimensional, optical, and mechanical characterization of MEMS-based products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop measurement methodologies and tooling for electrical, dimensional, optical, and mechanical characterization of MEMS-based products.
  • Lead and develop automated tools from selection, installation, qualification, training, calibration, and maintenance protocols.
  • Sustain quality automated tools by developing recipes, programs, fixtures, error analysis, and capacity planning to meet new product development and increase production demand.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure manufacturing processes remain both predictable and capable at the lowest possible operating cost.
  • Analyze and summarize data from metrology tools into actionable data and work with other engineers to develop root cause solutions.
  • Characterize processes to understand sources of variation and work to reduce them.
  • Support new process/product requirement development activities.
Requirements:
  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or Science.
  • 5+ years of experience operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and developing metrology, electrical test, and/or inspection tools.
  • Experience in automation tool, machine learning, calibration procedures, performing audits on metrology, and quality processes.
  • Broad knowledge of MEMS, thin film, semiconductor BEOL, wafer-scale packaging, thin-film, or flex circuit processing.
  • Mastery of engineering statistical analysis including DoE and SPC using JMP, Minitab or equivalent.
  • Ability to influence others through leadership and technical expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment wearing protective clothing such as a bunny suit and goggles for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of different groups including Operations, Process Integration, and R&D to effectively accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Capability to adapt to the company's changing needs and priorities and to be a self-motivated team player.
  • Experience working with outside suppliers.
