Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in payroll processing across multiple states and locations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with UKG software
- Familiarity with Kronos systems
Role Overview:
The Payroll Operations Coordinator is tasked with the preparation and execution of all payroll cycles, including weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls. This role also encompasses the management of the timekeeping system and payroll reporting procedures. The Coordinator will act as a key resource for employees regarding payroll and timekeeping inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management to address and resolve timesheet discrepancies.
- Extract work hours from the timekeeping system and integrate them into the payroll system.
- Input bonuses, short-term disability claims, and other adjustments into the payroll system.
- Calculate payments for short-term disability and retroactive adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll-related job changes between timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Conduct audits on payroll outputs to ensure accuracy.
- Facilitate the transmission of direct deposit and 401k files to financial institutions.
- Prepare manual checks as required.
- Manage the transmission of state and federal tax liabilities, along with wage garnishments, to the designated payment services vendor.
- Stay informed on current payroll and timekeeping regulations.
- Serve as a backup for supervisory roles when necessary.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in payroll management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and computer skills, particularly in Excel.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities.
- A high school diploma or equivalent vocational training is required.
