About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Account Manager to join our team at 10X Genomics. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding our presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Consultation: Demonstrate expertise in Next Gen Sequencing and provide technical guidance to customers to inform their technology and product choices.
  • Funnel Management: Develop and execute a sales strategy to manage the sales funnel, including prospecting, hunting, and closing deals.
  • Territory Planning: Create and execute a territory plan to meet or exceed business goals, including accurate and timely forecasting.
  • Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key thought leaders in the Next Gen Sequencing space and identify new business opportunities.
  • Sales Process Management: Manage the sales process, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of CRM systems and other designated IT tools.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in genetic analysis markets, products, and buying practices to effectively compete in the assigned territory.
  • Product Knowledge: Utilize product and application knowledge across the genetic analysis portfolio to successfully conduct selling presentations.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist in the identification and recruitment of new sales team members as needed.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that customers are fully satisfied with our products and services.
  • Professional Representation: Represent the company professionally, ethically, and morally at all times.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Next Gen Sequencing.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed to be successful in this field-based role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: Master's or PhD degree in a related field.
  • Desirable Skills: Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
