About the Role

FedSync is seeking a skilled Human Resources Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing various HR activities, including processing personnel actions, providing guidance on HR policies, and ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations for our Federal customer in the Department of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Actions and Processing: Process and recommend HR actions, including pay issues and incentive awards.
  • Employee and Labor Relations: Assist with Employee and Labor Relations (E&LR) programs, including performance management and awards.
  • Personnel Actions: Advise on and handle the preparation and processing of personnel actions.
  • Official Personnel Folders: Maintain Official Personnel Folders and performance documentation.
  • Tickler Files: Track key dates and manage tickler files for timely reminders.
  • New Employee Orientation: Provide orientation to new employees on various HR policies and procedures.
  • Employment Verifications: Conduct employment verifications and prepare orientation materials.
  • Service Computation Dates: Calculate service computation dates and manage related documentation.
  • E&LR Programs: Support E&LR programs with administrative tasks such as filing, case tracking, and meeting minutes.
  • Position Descriptions: Review and correct position descriptions and personnel action requests.
  • Personnel Actions Processing: Ensure smooth processing of personnel actions across various employment categories (SES, GS, FWS) using the NBC FPPS database.
  • Automated Personnel Information: Maintain up-to-date automated personnel information.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of HR experience supporting Federal agencies, with familiarity in the duties listed above.
  • Administrative Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an administrative role, including managing telephone inquiries, preparing correspondence, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in automated personnel/payroll systems and procedures.
  • Software Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to handle a high volume of inquiries, manage multiple tasks, and develop effective tracking systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal abilities.
