Aerospace Installation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Installation Specialist to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing complex structural and mechanical installations on aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Repair: Perform the most complex structural or aircraft installations, repairs, rework, or tests, requiring familiarity with all functions of components and systems to be installed.
- Quality Control: Ensure all parts/assembly meet requirements and manage all parts and disposition of parts in assigned work station.
- Training and Development: Instruct and assist other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders; develop methods and shop aids to resolve production installation difficulties and problems.
- Coordination and Communication: Coordinate work with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and update and sign required logs and records as required.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot mechanical and structural problems and use a variety of tools and equipment to successfully complete component installation.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement processes as assigned and maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs and comply with all safety regulations.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc. Two (2) years Gulfstream aircraft experience preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Must be able to use mathematical formulas by solving dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices, demonstrated ability to use within specified tolerance. Production Quality training. Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred. Requires ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams. Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc. Must be able to use all tools required to do the job. Ability to operate hydraulic mule pumps, tools, fixtures, and jigs. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
