Experienced Aircraft Interior Installation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Interior Installation Specialist to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a Senior Aircraft Interior Technician, you will be responsible for the removal, installation, and fabrication of aircraft interiors, including trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories.
Key Responsibilities- Aircraft Interior Installation and Fabrication: Safely perform aircraft interior removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors, including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
- Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train other Interior Installation Technicians, reviewing their work prior to sign-off to ensure work complies with quality control standards.
- Lead Responsibilities: Accept lead responsibilities as required, overseeing projects or other technicians and assessing requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation.
- Material Tracking and Utilization: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment, properly caring for and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
- Aircraft Interior Preparation and Installation: Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
- Fastener Removal and Reinstallation: Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors, applying proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required, and addressing unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
- Assistance with Aircraft Maintenance: Assist technicians with aircraft maintenance requirements.
- Adaptability and Coordination: Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate projects with other shops/departments as required.
- Process Improvement: Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
- Pattern Development: Make and use simple patterns for own use, employing standardized procedures.
- Aircraft Certification and Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
- Blueprint and Engineering Documentation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Tool and Equipment Operation: Ability to use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors.
- Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
- Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Aircraft Installation and Fabrication Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and/or fabrication processes applicable to the specific position, such as removal and installation of galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, panels; working with composite panels made from Nomex honeycomb, fiberglass, Lexan, acrylic materials, etc.
- Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
