Job Title: Biomedical Software Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Software Engineer to join our team at United Therapeutics. As a Biomedical Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing software that interfaces with databases to process large data sets collected from real-time sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software that interfaces with databases to process large data sets collected from real-time sensors.
- Collaborate with supervisors and internal partners to develop and maintain a centralized portal that interfaces with a cloud database system.
- Debug software issues for existing and emerging bioreactor systems independently and/or in collaboration with internal partners.
- Provide training sessions regarding upgrades, features, and functionality of software for various hardware systems.
- Prepare reports, technical documents, and SOP for internal and external use.
- Assist in assembly of hardware systems as needed.
- Record all laboratory data in the in-house data management system.
- Report and present data to other team members individually and at group meetings.
- Meet 1:1 with managers to review results and progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science/engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field and 2+ years of relevant post-Bachelor's degree industry experience OR Master's Degree in computer science/engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. Python, C++, Java).
- Ability to test and debug software.
- Experience with database and SQL.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good documentation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentations.
Preferred:
- Knowledge or experience with bioreactor, microfluidics, and/or any perfusable systems.
- Knowledge of software development and software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware.
- Experience with database administration.
