Position Overview:
The role involves the retrieval, upkeep, assessment, and repair of various instruments and equipment.

Core Responsibilities:
The primary focus is to ensure that instruments, gauges, and testing devices are properly identified, calibrated, and provide precise measurements.

This position may require occasional duties at different company locations.

Key Duties Include:
- Daily collection of gauges and tools from multiple sites.
- Regular calibration and preventive maintenance of analytical and laboratory instruments.
- Collaboration with Manufacturing, Laboratory, Maintenance, Metrology, and Engineering teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
- Swift identification and rectification of measurement discrepancies.
- Management of gauge inventory and other calibrated items using GAGEpack software.
- Training shop technicians, sourcing replacement parts for malfunctioning equipment, and exploring advancements in calibration methodologies.
- Compilation, measurement, and documentation of data from each instrument for review by technicians and management.
- Collection and organization of technical information from equipment manufacturers, users, and engineering personnel.
- Provision of practical recommendations and assessment of potential cost overruns.
- Execution of minor repairs on out-of-specification units as necessary.
- Accessing assembly instructions and drawings for repair tasks.
- General knowledge of various testing equipment to validate repairs.
- Ordering necessary components from relevant sources to complete repairs.
- Reviewing and confirming the completion of purchase orders in MS Dynamics.
- Gathering quotations and procuring gauges and other calibrated items essential for manufacturing.
- Managing vendor loans of gauges for production.

Additional Responsibilities:
All positions are also accountable for:
- Meeting company standards regarding the quantity and quality of work consistently, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve active tasks, including prolonged standing or sitting, and performing repetitive tasks. The role may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of 1-3 years in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience in optics, electronics, or manufacturing inspection is advantageous.

Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Specialized Skills:
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficient in using handheld measuring tools and devices, including calipers and micrometers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration in both individual and team settings.
- Capability to read mechanical drawings and interpret dimensional tolerances.
- Adaptability to changes in processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in converting between imperial and metric measurements.
- Ability to meet departmental standards for productivity and quality.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, Outlook, and ERP software is essential.
- Must be able to cross-train in all departmental areas, including visual and dimensional inspection, data entry, laser engraving, and metrology equipment.
