This position utilizes expertise in electrical/electronic and mechanical principles to diagnose equipment failures and employs skills to restore functionality.
The electronics technician delivers proficient mechanical and electrical/electronic support across all manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluates new products, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, laser sources, drives, gauges, and testing apparatus.
2. Provides guidance and training to technicians and assemblers on operational procedures and safety protocols for handling electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
3. Maintains required performance and testing documentation for designated equipment.
4. Installs, initiates, and deactivates equipment following company safety protocols for machine operation and shutdown, adhering to OSHA regulations.
5. Conducts preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.

1. Meeting company standards for the quantity and quality of work consistently, performing all tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures.
2. Adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding workplace behavior while fulfilling job duties and assignments.
Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in troubleshooting electronic systems. Proficiency in soldering is essential. Ability to interpret schematics and explain fundamental electronic circuit theory.
Education:
Formal training in electronics from a technical institution, Class A or B military electronics or communications school, or an associate degree.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Expertise in using electronics troubleshooting tools such as DMM, oscilloscopes, frequency generators, spectrum analyzers, or equivalent experience. Proficient in soldering SMD (surface-mounted device) and through-hole components and/or wiring. Familiarity with hand measuring instruments like calipers, height gauges, and micrometers. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to high-quality standards. Capability to adapt to changing production priorities. Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office) and communication tools are required.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must handle, manipulate, or assemble small parts and components, necessitating steady hands and good hand-eye coordination. The role may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing and repetitive tasks. Occasionally exerts up to 50 lbs. of force.
Employees may encounter substances such as acetone and epoxy, and work areas may be noisy.
Direct Reports:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other roles within the department.
