About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Representative to join our Domestic Road Freight Forwarding team at GEODIS. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers, ensuring seamless movement of goods worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select the most suitable carrier and routing for each shipment, taking into account customer requirements and shipment characteristics.
  • Communicate effectively with carriers to confirm bookings and receive shipping details.
  • Review customer documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness, and request revisions as necessary.
  • Follow GEODIS standard operating procedures for standard requirements and customer-specific SOPs for additional requirements.
  • Identify shipments that require special handling and regulatory compliance due to shipment characteristics, value, documentation, commodity, country of origin or destination, shipper, or consignee.
  • Enter required information into the GEODIS freight management system.
  • Print and review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete the invoicing and billing process.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Prepare rate quotations for customers.
  • Handle claims (OS&D) as necessary.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead periodic performance meetings with customers and carriers.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the movement of freight via air and/or truck.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat shipping requirements.
  • DG (Dangerous Goods) certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Work, Access, and Excel.
Preferred Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize workflow.
  • Mathematical skills to ensure accuracy in pricing.
  • Ability to provide a high level of service.
