POSITION SUMMARY
The Educational Governance Consultant plays a vital role in executing the operational framework of the APS charter system. This position entails supporting school governance adherence, managing elections, and facilitating school flexibility initiatives, while also aiding the efforts of school governance teams. The Consultant will deliver both professional and technical assistance to the Strategy and Governance Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required

- 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Previous experience in an educational environment is preferred.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Adept at building collaborative relationships.
- Assists in monitoring and assessing governance processes and initiatives.
- Facilitates communication, tracking, and oversight of compliance with school governance mandates, including public announcements of meeting schedules and documentation.
- Delivers outstanding customer service.
- Supports the development and delivery of engaging, high-quality training sessions for school governance team members, including staff, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders.
- Contributes to the creation of tools, guidelines, and protocols to enhance effective school governance practices.
- Maintains websites and other relevant communication platforms.
- Generates and distributes reports on the compliance and effectiveness of school governance teams.
- Assists school personnel in fostering and supporting the operations of school governance teams.
- Conducts research for school governance teams regarding solutions tailored to school needs.
- Facilitates the management of school governance elections and addresses interim vacancies.
- Required to maintain regular attendance, whether in-person or virtually, and be available to work on-site during standard business hours as necessary.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects weighing 15 pounds or more frequently.
Environmental Requirements: Ability to manage constant work interruptions; collaborate effectively with others; work independently; and work indoors.
Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process information quickly; learn rapidly and follow verbal instructions; prioritize tasks; compile and coordinate information and records. Ability to manage stress effectively.
Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Will require travel to multiple sites.
