Senior Cellular RF Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cellular RF Software/Firmware Engineer to join our world-class modem team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will design and develop sophisticated firmware that delivers exceptional performance in our products.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize RF firmware architecture for innovative mobile wireless communications systems.
- Implement RF device drivers and control software for RF transceivers and RF front end components with precise timing requirements.
- Collaborate with RF silicon designers to define RF transceiver architecture and supporting software computing requirements.
- Work with systems and IC designers to optimize power optimization for all RF circuitry in the cellular system.
- Manage dependencies and drive key Radio features with multi-functional teams.
- Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of mobile communications in 4G/5G 3GPP protocols and PHY layer radio aspects.
- Knowledge of communication theory, Wireless standards, Radio architecture, and Interfaces.
- In-depth experience with control of RF transceiver and RF front end components for 4G/5G data path processing.
- Understanding of RF calibrations for gain error and techniques for compensating RF impairments.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles and core computer science fundamentals.
- Excellent command of C and C++, and working experience with compilers, build, and source code control tools.
- Solid understanding of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of wireless communication systems.
- Experience with using RF Test equipment for RF validation and debugging.
- Proficiency with debugging in embedded software systems.
- Familiarity with JTAG and ETM Trace tools.
- Experience in providing technical leadership for a team size of 4-5, managing schedule and assignments for team members.
- Experience in delivering e2e features with some cross-functional impact and managing dependencies.

Base pay for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
