The Exercise Coordination Specialist will provide essential support for 9AF AFCENT/A5 in the planning and execution of various military exercises, including those sanctioned by CJCS, CCMD, and other components, as well as regional air shows within the USCENTCOM AOR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation of exercise frameworks, encompassing concept development, target audience identification, training objectives, joint exercise control group operations, overall execution, and after-action evaluations.
  • Develop exercise budgets aligned with ACC and USCENTCOM requirements, and create Fiscal Year exercise proposals to support TSC Plans.
  • Participate in leadership engagements, serving as an interlocutor or action officer to aid in the preparation of briefings and management of subsequent action items.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, conferences, briefings, and site surveys in support of CJCS and other command exercises as necessary.
  • Prepare and deliver exercise-related presentations to command leadership.
  • Collaborate with HHQ, country teams, Host Nation partners, and other commands in the development and execution of CJCS exercises and regional air shows.
  • Deploy as needed to support CJCS, CCMD, 9AF AFCENT, and component exercises and air shows.
  • Compile and publish formal after-action reports in coordination with the 9AF AFCENT Staff.
  • Provide exercise planning and execution expertise to the 9AF AFCENT Air Warfare Center as required.
  • Attend and engage in USCENTCOM and ACC exercise conferences and VTCs as necessary, managing all administrative tasks related to exercise planning, briefings, and travel.
  • Act as a backup Subject Matter Expert for the respective AOR countries associated with assigned exercises.
  • Assist in the development, management, and dissemination of long-term exercise schedules.
  • Review current operations, operational plans, Air Force instructions, and joint publications to collate data and brief senior officers on ongoing theater operations or issues.
  • Input and analyze data from the G-TSCMIS.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in exercise planning at a NAF or component command staff level or equivalent service experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field or a minimum of five years of experience at a NAF or component command staff level or equivalent service experience.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance required for at least three of the requested Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs).
  • Must possess a U.S. Passport and meet visa requirements for travel to USCENTCOM AOR countries.
  • A minimum of one year of experience with the AOC and/or IAMD for one FTE.
