Job Summary

DLA Piper is seeking a skilled lawyer with a minimum of eight years' experience handling commercial leases to join its Real Estate Group. This position is open to various offices across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the lead attorney in drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements, such as term sheets, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs. Supervise the work of less experienced leasing attorneys. Interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, brokers, and other relevant parties.

Requirements

JD degree. Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction where applying. Minimum 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements. Strong understanding of the commercial leasing market, including what is "market" for various types of leases and lease-related issues. Experience with leases for multiple property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life science. Substantial experience representing landlords. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues. Ability to understand clients' business objectives and produce work quickly and efficiently. Strong negotiating skills. Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. Strong analytical and writing skills. Attention to detail. Good business judgment. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Strong problem-solving skills.

The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $250,000 to $375,000 per year, depending on the candidate's geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors, including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
