Job Title: Senior Attorney, Litigation

About the Role:

The Center seeks a highly experienced and skilled Senior Attorney, Litigation, to join its U.S. Litigation team. As a Senior Attorney, you will play a critical role in litigating reproductive rights cases in federal and state courts, improving access to non-discriminatory, high-quality reproductive health care, and advancing the Center's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and staff.
  • Participate in program planning, case budgeting, and litigation strategy.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing, including drafting complaints, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to advance the Center's goals.
  • Maintain client relationships and engage in compliance work.
  • Represent the Center at public events, conferences, and coalition meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Development teams to support the Center's mission.

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the bar of New York or DC.
  • At least seven years of legal experience, with a strong background in litigation.
  • Substantial experience supervising attorneys and staff.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Outstanding legal analysis skills, including ability to develop complex legal arguments and strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain high level of expertise in relevant substantive law.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong commitment to the Center's mission, purpose, and values.
