Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide high-quality care and assistance to our residents, promoting their independence and dignity. This is a part-time position, working 7am-3pm, and requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as eating, toileting, and transferring
  • Report incidents and concerns to the nursing team, and complete accurate documentation
  • Perform housekeeping duties, such as cleaning resident apartments and common areas
  • Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts
  • Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents
  • Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
  • Assist residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activities
  • Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities
  • Check on residents who are ill and report status or concerns to the nursing team
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, and resident appointments
  • Assist new residents with move-in transition, providing emotional support
  • Report all resident changes and interventions in the Daily Log and clinical record

Requirements

  • Current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Organizational skills and ability to work well with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of the nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
  • Polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
  • Ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to become certified within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
