Job Title: Multi-Trade Pipe Installer

Reports To: Multi-Trade Pipe Installer Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Overview: At EMCOR Government Services, we pride ourselves on being a versatile organization dedicated to fulfilling our clients' needs by supplying skilled personnel across various trades. Our field employees receive cross-training in multiple disciplines, including pipefitting, welding, millwrighting, and more. This role primarily focuses on the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems and associated equipment for various applications, including steam, hot water, heating, cooling, and industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders to cut, thread, and shape pipes according to specifications.
  2. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings by employing techniques such as welding, brazing, and soldering.
  3. Install pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets and clamps, ensuring stability and compliance with standards.
  4. Conduct inspections and tests on installed systems using pressure gauges and other methods to ensure functionality.
  5. Measure and mark pipes accurately for cutting and threading processes.
  6. Plan and execute pipe system layouts and installations based on detailed specifications.
  7. Possess additional skills in various crafts to meet diverse customer requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent; or two years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally need to sit, climb, or balance. Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

While executing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, extreme heat, and vibrations may occur. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
