Overview:

At EMCOR Government Services, we pride ourselves on being a multi-faceted organization dedicated to meeting our clients' diverse needs by providing skilled personnel across various trades. Our field employees receive comprehensive training in multiple disciplines, including millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, and sheet metal work. This position primarily focuses on delivering preventive maintenance and repair services for HVAC systems, along with their installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial clients.
  2. Conduct thorough examinations of equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot problems effectively.
  3. Assist the HVAC foreman in repairing or replacing defective components, mechanical parts, or wiring within HVAC systems.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment.
  5. Evaluate HVAC systems for efficiency and safety.
  6. Maintain accurate records of customer appointments and financial transactions, including invoices.
  7. Keep an organized inventory of all tools, equipment, and HVAC resources.
  8. Oversee all aspects of HVAC system installations.
  9. Utilize additional skills in other trades as necessary to fulfill customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  2. Certification from the Environmental Protection Agency for refrigerant handling is mandatory.
  3. Must possess a valid state HVAC technician license.
  4. Certification or an associate's degree from an accredited HVAC program is preferred.
  5. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex HVAC issues clearly to clients.
  6. Must hold a valid state driver's license.
  7. Punctuality and adherence to a daily schedule with multiple appointments are essential.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
