Position Summary:

The Principal Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the design and oversight of facility projects, encompassing construction, renovation, plant systems, and the installation of production equipment. This role also involves supporting maintenance operations by addressing issues related to plant systems or equipment and leading special teams aimed at enhancing plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish design criteria in accordance with relevant codes and company standards.
  • Collaborate with representatives from various departments to review design requirements.
  • Identify project resources, whether external contractors or internal teams.
  • Create detailed floor plans and assess utility needs, including electrical, gas, fluid, and waste management.
  • Evaluate HVAC specifications, covering heating, cooling, exhaust, humidity, and clean room conditions.
  • Prepare cost estimates and capital authorization documentation to secure funding.
  • Solicit cost quotations from vendors and contractors, generating orders for labor and materials.
  • Supervise construction and installation activities to ensure quality and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology, focusing on mechanical or electrical systems.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Windows-based applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project).
  • Familiarity with specialized piping systems for DI water, chemicals, flammable liquids, and high-purity gases.
  • Experience in designing and operating clean room environments.
  • Knowledge of environmental systems, including scrubbers and waste management equipment.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities related to design tasks, project alignment, and prioritization of daily activities.
  • Capability to thrive in a high-pressure environment while maintaining effective communication with colleagues, management, and external contacts.
  • A collaborative team player, adept at working with colleagues, internal customers, and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to keep facility drawings and related documents up to date.
