Key Responsibilities
  • Greets patients promptly and answers the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Schedules appointments in person or by phone, optimizing patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
  • Notifies doctor/providers of patient arrival, reviews service delivery compared to schedule, and reminds providers of service delays.
  • Facilitates reminder calls to patients for appointment confirmation and order pickup notification.
  • Records and updates financial information, collects patient charges, and files, collects, and expedites third-party claims.
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Determines both medical and vision insurance eligibility in accordance with patients' current plan coverage.
  • Ensures all office systems are maintained and a safe working environment for all team members and patients.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of office experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external).
  • Strong communicator and listener.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Organization skills.
