About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading a classroom of up to 9 children and 2-3 assistant teachers, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment that fosters the development of each child.
Key Responsibilities- Classroom Leadership: Take charge of a classroom, overseeing the daily activities, and ensuring the implementation of the Montessori curriculum.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents through verbal and written updates on their child's progress.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise, direct, train, and mentor 2-3 teaching assistants in the classroom.
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement a daily curriculum that aligns with the Montessori philosophy and the individual needs of each child.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a beautifully prepared, organized, clean, safe, and stimulating environment for the children.
- Parent and Community Engagement: Build respectful, collaborative relationships with parents and colleagues, and develop a weekly newsletter to keep parents informed about the Montessori Method and parenting young children.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience working with children.
- Certification: American Montessori Society (AMS), Association Montessori International (AMI), or Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) certified.
- Experience: At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Montessori/Toddler classroom.
- Skills: Knowledge of MiLeap regulations, ability to communicate effectively with children about Christian faith and principles, and experience with Transparent Classroom and LineLeader.
