Position Overview:

The Accounting Operations Manager will be instrumental in the Accounting team, overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, and contributing to the strategic vision of the accounting department. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to meet financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, which includes reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, payroll, accruals, general ledger entries, and sub-ledger entries. Prepare and review month-end reconciliations for balance sheet and select income statement accounts.
  • Process Improvement: Drive automation and enhance efficiency in finance and accounting processes. Implement and uphold new accounting standards as applicable.
  • Team Management: Mentor and supervise a team of accounting professionals, including offshore staff. Ensure that weekly and monthly deliverables are met while suggesting training and process enhancements.
  • Vendor and Expense Management: Oversee the accounts payable and expense reimbursement processes to guarantee accurate and timely payments to vendors and reimbursements to employees.
  • Cash Management: Support daily and weekly cash reporting and management activities.
  • Integration of Acquisitions: Assist in the smooth integration of acquired partner firms into the company's reporting systems, consolidating financial reporting of acquired accounting practices within a specified timeframe post-acquisition.
  • Audit and Tax Compliance: Aid in the completion of annual audits and tax filings, collaborating closely with the Controller to prepare for audits and ensure efficient processes throughout the year.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate key accounting projects with internal and external stakeholders, including year-end audits and tax filings.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting audit, assurance, or advisory experience being advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting processes. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Preferred: Experience with integrating acquired companies and implementing new accounting standards.

Salary Range:

$96,000 - $134,550.00
