The organization offers a diverse array of programs and services aimed at improving the well-being of residents across New York City's five boroughs, including childcare, youth development, senior services, behavioral health, and immigrant and community support.
The Accounting Reporting Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Reporting Manager will lead and coordinate daily accounting functions. This position is also tasked with the preparation of annual financial statements and facilitating annual audits. The incumbent will manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reporting responsibilities and is expected to develop and implement departmental and organizational budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing and reporting.
- Initiate and oversee budget and forecasting activities, assisting in the annual budget preparation process.
- Monitor and analyze departmental workflows to enhance efficiency while maintaining high accuracy levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to verify transaction reports and resolve issues.
- Provide guidance to staff on handling non-routine reporting transactions.
- Respond to the CFO with financial results and special reporting requests.
- Work closely with the retained CPA firm to ensure a smooth and timely year-end audit.
- Ensure compliance with financial deadlines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures to improve departmental workflow.
- Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process and payroll tax filings.
- Project and analyze monthly expense reports for Program Directors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in audit, contract reporting, budgeting, and financial reporting within the nonprofit sector.
- Knowledge of governmental regulations, contracts, and budgeting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results.
- Proficient in multitasking and adapting in a fast-paced environment while emphasizing accuracy and timeliness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with Fund EZ and ADP Workforce Now is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel is required.
Compensation: $75,000 Annual
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (In-person)
