Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is a prominent firm seeking a dedicated civil/structural Senior Engineer to enhance our Critical Infrastructures division. This role is pivotal in delivering expert consulting services in structural engineering, focusing on advanced analysis and design projects under the guidance of senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Engineer will oversee medium-scale projects and provide essential support to fellow project managers and engineers. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting structural engineering analysis and design for steel and concrete frameworks, performing stress evaluations of piping and components, and ensuring seismic compliance of mechanical apparatus using both manual calculations and finite element analysis tools.
  • Generating comprehensive technical reports and calculation documentation.
  • Executing intricate structural engineering assignments.
  • Planning, scheduling, executing, and coordinating projects of moderate complexity with minimal oversight.
  • Assigning tasks to junior engineers and reviewing their calculations and analyses.
  • Offering guidance and serving as a resource for engineering personnel involved in managed projects.
  • Fostering positive relationships with clients.
  • Representing the firm at project meetings, often as the sole SIA representative.
  • Implementing SIA's safety and quality control protocols.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5 to 9 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Expertise in solid mechanics, steel and concrete design, seismic analysis, advanced structural analysis, and proficiency in advanced finite element analysis software.
  • Familiarity with standard building and material codes (e.g., ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, AISI).
  • Proficiency in structural engineering or finite element analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, and/or Mathcad).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • A PhD in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with drafting and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling applications).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ICC-ES AC156, IEEE 693, ASCE 41, GR-63).
  • Advanced education or experience in engineering mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and impact analysis.
