Position Overview:

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated civil/structural Senior Engineer to enhance our Critical Infrastructures team.

The Senior Engineer will deliver structural engineering consulting services focused on advanced design and analysis projects, under the guidance of senior management.

This role involves managing medium-scale projects and providing assistance to fellow project managers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural engineering analysis and design for steel and concrete structures, including stress analysis of piping and components, as well as seismic qualification of mechanical equipment, utilizing both hand calculations and finite element analysis software.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and calculation documents.
  • Execute intricate structural engineering tasks with precision.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate projects of moderate complexity with limited oversight.
  • Delegate responsibilities to other engineering staff.
  • Review and validate calculations and analyses produced by other engineers.
  • Provide guidance and serve as a resource for engineering personnel involved in managed projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients.
  • Represent the company at project meetings, often as the sole attendee from Structural Integrity Associates.
  • Implement company policies regarding safety and quality control.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5 to 9 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in solid mechanics, steel and concrete design, seismic analysis, advanced structural analysis, and structural dynamics, along with experience using advanced finite element analysis software.
  • Familiarity with standard building and material codes (e.g., ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, AISI).
  • Expertise in structural engineering or finite element analysis programs (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, Mathcad).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with drafting and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling tools).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ICC-ES AC156, IEEE 693, ASCE 41, GR-63).
  • Advanced education or experience in engineering mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and impact analysis.
