Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated civil/structural Senior Engineer to enhance our Critical Infrastructures team.
The Senior Engineer will deliver structural engineering consulting solutions on sophisticated analysis and design initiatives under the guidance of senior leadership.
This role involves managing medium-scale projects and providing assistance to fellow project managers and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural engineering analysis and design for steel and concrete frameworks, including stress assessments of piping and components, as well as seismic validation of mechanical apparatus, utilizing hand calculations or advanced finite element analysis software.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and calculation documentation.
- Execute intricate structural engineering tasks.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate projects of moderate complexity with limited oversight.
- Delegate responsibilities to other engineering professionals.
- Review calculations and analyses performed by peers.
- Provide guidance and serve as a resource for engineering personnel engaged in managed projects.
- Foster positive client relationships.
- Represent the company at project meetings, often as the sole representative.
- Implement company policies regarding safety and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 5 to 9 years of pertinent professional experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Expertise in solid mechanics, steel and concrete design, seismic analysis, advanced structural analysis, and proficiency in advanced finite element analysis software.
- Familiarity with standard building and material codes (e.g., ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, AISI).
- Proficient in structural engineering or finite element analysis programs (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, and/or Mathcad).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Structural Engineering.
- Experience in project management.
- Familiarity with drafting and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling tools).
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ICC-ES AC156, IEEE 693, ASCE 41, GR-63).
- Advanced education or experience in engineering mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, blast, shock, and impact analysis.
