If you are a Structural Engineer looking to elevate your career in vertical structural design engineering, our Lead Structural Engineer PE role offers a rewarding position where you will take full ownership of our commercial, industrial, institutional, and life science structural design projects on the West Coast. We are expanding our Buildings Structural Engineering team on the West Coast around you. This is a full-time remote opportunity, although we seek candidates located near a West Coast NV5 office.
Key Responsibilities:As our Lead Structural Engineer PE, you will engage in the technical design of building projects, provide leadership and mentorship to a growing team, and oversee multiple projects concurrently, including budgeting, scheduling, and client management & communication. You will work independently and take ownership of the success of our West Coast Buildings Group. Additionally, you will attend project sites and client meetings.
Qualifications:We encourage you to apply if you possess the following experience & qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in California; a PE license in Washington is a plus.
- 8+ years of relevant structural design engineering experience (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood).
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and standards specific to the West Coast, particularly seismic considerations.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, RAM Products, ETABS, StructurePoint, ENERCALC).
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices is essential; litigation experience is a plus.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
