Position Overview

The Exhibit Fabrication Specialist plays a crucial role in the collaborative efforts of Roto Group LLC's diverse team of design experts. This position involves contributing to the construction of engaging exhibits, interpretive displays, themed environments, and structures based on detailed shop and construction drawings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support in the fabrication, assembly, and finishing of exhibits, displays, scenic facades, and graphic signage using a variety of materials tailored to project requirements.
  • Utilize standard shop tools and various hand power tools essential for the fabrication and assembly of final products.
  • Install exhibit structures and devices in designated exhibition spaces, both within the workshop and at client sites as necessary.
  • Create scaled models of exhibit components and spaces for evaluation using materials such as wood, plastics, and foam core.
  • Deliver exceptional service to internal teams and external clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Engage in Roto operations by participating in meetings and team activities as appropriate.
  • Prepare and finish structures and components using diverse materials and techniques.
  • Exemplify professionalism in appearance, attitude, and performance to inspire fellow team members.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations through diligent work practices, record-keeping, and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience or relevant training in a cabinet shop or similar fabrication, construction, mechanical, or industrial technology role.
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships.
  • Extensive experience in cabinet making and fine carpentry, including skills in cutting, joining, and preparing wood, plywood, and various plastic materials.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently without direct supervision, taking personal responsibility for timely task completion.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Mechanical aptitude to integrate various electromechanical devices into exhibit casework and structures.
  • High proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and various saws, routers, and drills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Demands:
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) and work from lifts, ladders, and elevated platforms.
  • Capability to work in shop conditions that may involve fluctuating temperatures and environments.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with team members and clients.
  • Physical dexterity to build, prototype, and install exhibits, including the ability to lift, bend, twist, squat, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
