Technology Project Leader

The Technology Project Leader will offer strategic direction, vision, and collaboration among business and technology stakeholders to effectively design and execute business process modifications and technological solutions that meet organizational goals. This role will apply project management methodologies, tools, and standards to engineer, integrate, and implement automated business process capabilities and workflows. Responsibilities include the initiation, planning, and execution of projects while overseeing and controlling the project lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate collaboration with business units, IT, and Operations to establish project objectives.
  • Possess experience and comprehension of various development/project methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative and independence, requiring minimal oversight during critical decision-making points or challenges in the project/program.
  • Create, analyze, and manage supplementary project management documentation to oversee communications, risks, and issues.
  • Direct and manage the project throughout its lifecycle, aligning resources to achieve objectives and ensuring timelines are adhered to.
  • Evaluate and monitor progress at clearly defined stages to guarantee that the project is completed on schedule, within budget, and meets or surpasses expectations.
  • Lead meetings and disseminate information to project members and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and eliminate barriers to project success.

Supervisory Role:

This position functions as an individual contributor without direct reports but may provide guidance, leadership, and training to others.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, an individual must effectively perform each essential function. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Project Planning and Tracking: Capable of successfully integrating planning tasks across multiple areas within and across lines of business. Identifies and negotiates resource requirements for projects, ensuring readiness activities are completed.
  • Professional Development Skills: Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills, personal credibility, teamwork, collaboration, work planning, and estimation. Communicates confidently with executive management and proactively engages with key stakeholders and project teams.
  • Business Value Delivery: Demonstrates ability to manage project scope and collaborate with the team to recommend options. Capable of documenting project goals and tracking related metrics to ensure realization of benefits.
  • Managing Ambiguity: Defines, discovers, documents, or standardizes processes as necessary, either hands-on or by leveraging others to clarify or resolve process gaps.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • A minimum of five years of project management experience leading technical projects across various business units and implementing technology enhancements.
  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Mortgage sectors is highly desirable.
  • Experience in business change management is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Process Flow tools, and Project Planning tools is required.
  • PMP Certification is advantageous.
