Position Overview:
The Creative Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Full-time Early Childhood Support Specialist with a starting compensation of $18/hr, inclusive of benefits.

We provide training and mentorship opportunities for those with limited experience.


This role is ideal for individuals interested in working with children with special needs and making a meaningful impact in their lives. It is also a valuable opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and Healthcare.

Supervision for certification is available for those pursuing BCBA certification or teaching internships.

Moreover, candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline and who successfully complete the CBEST test may apply to the CA Department of Education for a Substitute Teacher position.


Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional assistance to individual students or small groups, monitoring their ability to follow directions and manage behavior.

- Execute treatment plans utilizing ABA methodologies.

- Gather data on student progress towards goals as directed by licensed professionals.

- Support staff in maintaining records and charts related to student development.

- Reinforce academic behaviors as instructed by licensed staff and provide students with opportunities to practice.

- Assist students in community, recreational, educational, and leisure activities under the guidance of licensed professionals.

- Apply district-approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint, including Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

- Perform additional related duties as assigned by building administration and licensed staff.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.

- 1-2 years of experience in a special needs educational environment is preferred but not mandatory.

- Ability to collaborate effectively and accept feedback, mentoring, and guidance from colleagues and supervisors.

- Proven experience in maintaining a professional demeanor and clinical perspective, with the ability to manage emotional responses to student behaviors.


- Demonstrated physical capability to safely implement Crisis Management Interventions, including therapeutic holds, for all parties involved.


- Must be able to maintain various postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods.


- While performing job duties, the employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
