Position Overview

As an integral member of the Temple City Healthcare team, the Early Childhood Support Specialist will work under the guidance of the Director of Child Development Programs and/or the Director of Special Education. This role encompasses a variety of essential non-nursing responsibilities aimed at promoting the well-being of preschool students.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
  • Assist in delivering tailored instruction to children with special needs, including those with orthopedic challenges and medically fragile conditions.
  • Support the unique requirements of each child, which may involve assistance with feeding, toileting, positioning, and health monitoring in a preschool environment.


Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED, along with two (2) years of college-level coursework or an Associate's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, including twelve (12) units in early childhood education (ECE) or child development (CD) coursework covering core subjects such as child/human growth and development, child/family/community relations, and curriculum/programs.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children who have special needs.
