POSITION SUMMARY:

The Returns Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the daily functions of the Returns Department. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this position is tasked with ensuring the efficient execution of all return processes, including labeling, packaging, and staff management, while striving to meet facility objectives on a daily basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead and coordinate the unloading of returned items, ensuring all necessary documentation, such as Bills of Lading and packing lists, are verified.
  2. Maintain a comprehensive returns log on the designated server, ensuring all returns are accurately recorded.
  3. Process credits for both consumer and commercial returns within a stipulated timeframe of receiving the products.
  4. Follow up on any outstanding Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) to ensure timely processing and credit issuance.
  5. Collaborate closely with the Warehouse Manager to guarantee RMAs are processed within the required timeframe.
  6. Ensure that all credited items are handled according to company policy, either being appropriately disposed of or returned to inventory.

Oversee all aspects of packaging and labeling, ensuring that the Returns Department is equipped with the necessary materials for efficient operations. Items that are processed must be promptly returned to the Inbound area for further handling.

Additionally, the supervisor will be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and verifying serial numbers for returned firearms, ensuring they are stored correctly for events and shows in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

Provide guidance and training for all roles within the Returns Department, focusing on continuous improvement and adherence to company service and cost objectives.

Identify, report, and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain a smooth workflow.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

Engage with various departments, including Customer Service Representatives and Event Coordinators, as necessary. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential.

Possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and evaluate detailed information effectively. Prioritization and organizational skills are critical for success in this role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is situated in a general warehousing environment, requiring physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Occasional exposure to varying weather conditions may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse setting, with a solid understanding of warehouse operations and quality control processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, and Word, is required. Experience with materials handling equipment is also necessary.
