Position: Controls Engineering Manager - Industrial Refrigeration

Role Overview:

The Controls Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the PLC Engineering teams dedicated to Engineer-To-Order PLC System Controls for industrial refrigeration applications. This position is integral to ensuring the technical excellence and operational efficiency of our engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the PLC Engineering Team in the design, development, and documentation of PLC programs for industrial refrigeration systems, utilizing advanced software tools.
  • Interpret and create logic and flow diagrams to facilitate program design, simulation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales Organization, assisting with quotations and engaging in customer discussions.
  • Utilize refrigeration expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Manage project schedules and resources within the PLC Engineering Department to ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and performance optimization by identifying trends and implementing effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and advancements through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve organizational objectives and drive engineering excellence.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems and their operational principles.
  • Proficiency in developing PLC programs, with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in PLC controls.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, and Ignition.
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs), starters, and circuit breakers.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer engagement.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.
