Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Principal.

Position Overview:

Aligned with our educational mission, the Primary Music Educator will ensure that all students develop the necessary knowledge and skills for academic success and personal growth. This role requires a commitment to uphold the school's values, maintain the Student Code of Conduct, and foster collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community.

The Primary Music Educator will provide comprehensive music instruction using approved curriculum resources, ensuring lessons are tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles. A nurturing classroom environment that encourages social interaction and student engagement is essential.

Collaboration with fellow educators is vital to support the school's initiatives, which may include participating in meetings, school events, and team projects.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement evidence-based curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Design and deliver age-appropriate music curriculum aligned with educational standards.
  • Prepare and execute lesson plans that promote active learning.
  • Utilize technology to enhance music education.

  • Encourage student-led learning and peer collaboration.
  • Stay updated on best practices in music education.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or a related field (Required).
  • Master's Degree in Music Education or a related field (Preferred).
  • Valid Professional Educators License (PEL) for K-8 (Required).
  • Music Endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education (Required).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English (Preferred).

Experience and Skills:

Candidates should possess substantial knowledge of music education principles, effective teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques. Flexibility in instructional approaches and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
