As a Lead Music Educator, you will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring students, helping them unlock their creative potential and understand the intricacies of the music business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Engaging Lesson Plans: Create and implement weekly lesson plans focused on various aspects of music, including songwriting, music production, and DJing.
- Conduct Practical Sessions: Lead hands-on sessions on music production, DJ mixing, and other music-related topics.
- Assess Student Progress: Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
- Create a Supportive Learning Environment: Establish a positive and effective learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Organize Music-Related Events: Plan and lead music-related events and workshops, contributing to the broader community engagement.
Requirements:
- Advanced Music Skills: Possess advanced proficiency in songwriting, music business understanding, DJing, and music production.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Digital Audio Workstations such as Serato DJ, Serato Studio, or Logic Pro. (Training available if needed.)
Background Qualifications:
- Mandatory Clearances: Obtain clearances, including Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI background checks.
- Music Industry Experience: Demonstrate experience in performing, recording, or teaching music.
- Strong Portfolio: Showcase a strong portfolio of musical projects or collaborations.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and inspire students.
- Event Planning Experience: Experience in organizing and leading music-related events or workshops is highly desirable.
- Adaptability: Adaptability to work with diverse student groups and environments.
Compensation:
- Session Rate: $100 per session
- Professional Development Opportunities: Opportunities for professional development and potential pay increases based on performance.
Schedule:
- Session Duration: Sessions last 1-2 hours during or after school hours (Possible times: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM or 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM).
- Setup and Breakdown: Instructors are expected to manage setup, actual class time, and breakdown.
