Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician II (PCT II) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and services at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our team, you will work under the direction of a licensed clinician to provide exceptional support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care for assigned patients, including obtaining pre and post-treatment vitals, weight, and vascular access condition.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and change in condition.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and clean working environment, including obtaining and preparing laboratory specimens as prescribed.
  • Participates in process improvement/quality improvement initiatives for the department in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Serves as a preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff, promoting individual professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Certified in Basic Life Support or Heartsaver CPR with AED within 90 days of employment.
  • One or more of the following: Certified as a Nursing Assistant by the Texas Department of Health, Graduate of a foreign nursing program with nursing credentials/licensure in country of origin, Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (Certification or Registration preferred), or Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the Emergency Department only.
  • Prior patient care experience required.
