Job Summary:

As a key member of our team at Lockton, Inc., you will play a vital role in helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing strategic plans that meet the unique needs of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to identify and address their benefits needs, providing expert guidance on funding solutions, long-term objectives, and risk tolerance.
  • Negotiate with carriers to secure optimal quotes and make recommendations on plan design for smaller accounts.
  • Provide exceptional client service, handling day-to-day issues and questions, and participating in yearly renewals and open enrollment meetings.
  • Assist in the production of Request for Proposals (RFPs), coordinating vendor responses, analyzing and comparing internal responses, and preparing client report recommendations.
  • Facilitate quotes, amendments, and reinstatements as needed, ensuring seamless execution of client plans.
  • Interpret clients' current coverages, identifying gaps and recommending alternatives, additional plan design changes, and other enhancements.
  • Develop financial models and reports for the client service team, providing interpretation and implications of recommended alternatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create communications, such as OE guides, fliers, and presentations, to effectively engage clients.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure thorough review of all agreements and documents.
  • Conduct industry-specific surveys as requested by clients, providing valuable insights to inform their benefits strategies.
  • Participate in client meetings to review large claims, abnormal utilization results, monthly claims experience, and set strategies and goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and carrier product offerings, facilitating meetings with vendors to explore new products and services.
  • Maintain knowledge of governmental compliance and regulations, educating and consulting clients on these matters in partnership with internal legal counsel.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned and/or needed.


Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in employee welfare benefits.
  • Strong knowledge of differing financial arrangements and products available to clients, including fully-insured, self-insured, minimum premium, and ASO.
  • Experience conducting open enrollment benefits meetings.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with a broker and/or employee benefits industry.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and clients, building strong relationships and effectively managing plan strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
