The COMET contract oversees the management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at a prominent space center. These responsibilities support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

We are seeking a technician to provide support for the Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF).

The LETF is a versatile testing and development area that supports a wide range of operational programs. Originally established to facilitate full-scale qualification of space shuttle systems, it has been modernized to support current space exploration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver technical assistance to engineers in areas such as research, design, development, testing, or process enhancement.

· Aid in the design, assessment, and modification of machinery and equipment.

· Execute routine tasks under close supervision or according to detailed guidelines.

· Review work in progress or upon completion.

· Conduct daily operations of Ground Systems Technical Operations.

· Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or technical equivalent with one year of relevant experience or equivalent technical training.

This position may be filled at various levels based on the candidate's experience and business requirements.

Job Requirements:

· Ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineering drawings, and adhere to strict safety protocols.

· Willingness to work all shifts and overtime with minimal notice.

· Strong communication skills are essential.

· Capability to lift 40 lbs.

· Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

· Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

· Experience with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems is preferred.

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other software applications is advantageous.

· Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status is required.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to climb stairs and access equipment for troubleshooting.

· Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

· Position may involve prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

· Physical demands include walking, standing, and navigating various terrains.

Work Environment:

· Responsibilities will require working both indoors and outdoors across the testing complex.

· Position may necessitate travel to different areas on site.

· All tasks must be performed safely in accordance with established safety standards.

Attendance:

· Full-time work hours are expected.

· Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.
