Underground Utilities Laborer

We are seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Laborer to join our team at VCI Construction. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing general labor duties related to telecommunications construction.
Key Responsibilities:- Load, drive, deliver, dig, remove, and place various types and sizes of construction materials and equipment.
- Hand dig using shovels and mechanical tools.
- Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
- Climb into and out of equipment, such as trucks, cars, backhoes, and trenchers.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery, including backhoes, jackhammers, and saws.
- Work in congested or remote areas and maintain visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary objects.
- Perform general construction work under the direction of a foreman or supervisor.
- Flagging and property or worksite restoration.
- Ability to perform duties for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, and may be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, or on-call.
- Duties require standing, crouching, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
- Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 LBS regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and transportation.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
