Job Title: Construction Laborer

Baseband Telecom Corp. is a national infrastructure, utilities and specialty contractor serving the wireless, broadband, and telecommunications markets. We plan, design, build and support communications infrastructure for our clients across the Southwest Region.

Job Summary:

The Construction Laborer position performs a wide variety of duties in support of constructing telecommunications utilities. This position works establishing, building and maintaining various telecommunications projects and involves physical labor tasks at road/highway sites and heavy construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, or compact earth to grade specifications, using shovels and other equipment.
  • Follow project plans by loading and unloading materials, machinery, and tools; and distribute to appropriate locations.
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in road/highway environments to prepare worksite for telecommunications cabling.
  • Locate underground utilities and eliminate potential hazards for cabling work to be completed.
  • Use of hand tools and machinery including shovels, picks, and various power tools to complete arrangements.
  • Maintain a clean job site: ensure tools are in proper place, secure equipment and supplies to avoid potential hazards.
  • Ability to assist in pulling out cable lines and other equipment used in installing cable wires.
  • Conduct traffic control near, in or around work zones.
  • Perform material handling and storage tasks.
  • Ensure proper safety techniques and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One or more years of roadside construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate competence with hand and power tools.
  • Valid Drivers license (CDL highly preferred).
  • Ability to drive for results completing assignments timely and accurately.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with a team or alone.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check and driver's license verification.

Pay Range: $23.00/hr based on experience
