Fire Safety Systems Technician

inSync Staffing is actively seeking skilled Fire Safety Systems Technicians. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including night shifts, and may need to travel for extended periods as necessary. Proficiency in the installation of commercial fire safety systems and devices, along with strong diagnostic abilities, is crucial for this position. A valid license is mandatory in all applicable locations, and having NICET Certifications is a plus.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in field installations within security settings, particularly in Fire Safety and Access Control
  • Preferred NICET certification
  • Possession of a current and valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the relevant field
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods
  • Skilled in troubleshooting network devices, including switches, WiFi, and routers
  • Certified to operate aerial lifts and comfortable working at heights
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site maps
  • Experience with burglar alarms, access control systems, and CCTV is advantageous
  • Assist in the design and planning of technical solutions during pre-installation phases
  • Conduct new installations and provide technical support both on-site and remotely
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic knowledge of PPE and reliable transportation during the training phase
  • Proficient in using computers, laptops, smartphones, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in email communication, spreadsheets, and learning internal systems
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial environments, including concrete walls and limited conduit bending
  • Ensure all wiring, connections, and equipment installations meet client satisfaction
  • Install, repair, or upgrade fire safety systems according to building plans and electrical layouts
  • Accurately mount sensors, including drilling and accessing crawlspaces or attics
  • Ensure fire safety systems comply with electrical and fire safety codes
  • Conduct tests to verify the operational status of newly installed fire safety systems
  • Adhere to project safety requirements and regulations
  • Collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager on work schedules and equipment delivery
