We are currently looking for a Weighing Systems Technician. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the precise and dependable operation of various weighing devices utilized in both industrial and commercial environments. Your key responsibilities will encompass the installation, upkeep, calibration, and troubleshooting of weighing systems to ensure accurate measurements and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Execute the proper installation and configuration of a variety of weighing systems, including industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Calibration: Conduct calibration processes to guarantee that weighing systems deliver accurate measurements, making adjustments as necessary to meet precision standards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on weighing devices to avert malfunctions and prolong their operational lifespan. Swiftly diagnose and rectify issues to minimize service interruptions.
  • Inspection: Assess weighing systems for wear, damage, and operational efficiency. Identify and resolve issues related to load cells, display units, and other critical components.
  • Documentation: Keep meticulous records of service and calibration activities, including calibration certificates and service reports, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients professionally, discussing service needs, providing estimates, and addressing any inquiries related to weighing system operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment, prioritizing safety when handling heavy equipment and electrical components.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that serviced weighing systems comply with all quality and regulatory standards, confirming their suitability for intended applications.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for service and maintenance, replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Training: Stay informed about the latest advancements in weighing technology and industry best practices, participating in training programs to enhance your skills.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated experience in the installation, calibration, and repair of weighing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and a knack for diagnosing technical issues.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to weighing systems.
  • Proficiency in using calibration and measurement tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in diverse environmental conditions.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; a Class B (or A) Commercial Driver's License is advantageous.
  • Experience with AC/DC and MIG welding is a plus.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant industry experience is preferred.

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs daily and frequently handling 25 lbs, with exposure to varying temperatures, heights, and noise levels, primarily working indoors or outdoors. Daily physical tasks may involve reaching, crouching, walking, climbing, and balancing, with occasional requirements for pulling, pushing, crawling, and kneeling.
