Job Overview

The Area Operations Manager oversees the daily functions of a small supply chain organization based in Eau Claire, WI, with regional hubs in surrounding areas.

The primary responsibility includes managing a team of drivers and overseeing vehicle operations to guarantee prompt pickup and delivery of goods throughout the day. This role demands agility and adaptability due to varying customer needs and volume fluctuations. Critical supplies are transported daily, necessitating meticulous attention to detail and operational efficiency. The position involves hiring and supervising over 30 personnel, as well as managing a fleet that includes box trucks, cube vans, and sedans.

This operation runs 24/7, servicing various regions, including occasional routes to neighboring states.

Effective communication with staff, peers, and corporate leadership is essential for success in this role. As the corporate representative in the region, the Area Operations Manager must work autonomously to achieve operational goals.


Familiarity with the trucking sector, supply chain management principles, scheduling, dispatching, and personnel management are key competencies for this position.

Proficiency in using smartphones and computers is vital for operational management and communication within the organization.

Hiring is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and motor vehicle record assessments.


Experience in team management, knowledge of the Courier/Trucking industries, and a background in Transportation/Logistics are advantageous. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment is crucial. Quick decision-making and effective team management are necessary to maintain continuous operations.
