Veterinary Technician - Emergency Nurse

We are expanding our hospital and seeking a Veterinary Nurse (Vet Tech) with a minimum of two years of experience in emergency veterinary care to join our Emergency Department.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The overnight schedule we are hiring for is:

Wednesday through Saturday 10pm - 8am (*** SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE ***)

*For candidates without two years of emergency experience but with the necessary education and a strong desire to enhance their skills, please inquire about our Talent Management Program.*

Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to assist our patients:
  • Experience in emergency veterinary care
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
  • Attention to detail and a composed demeanor
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Triage - identify emergencies and illnesses
  • Administer various treatments on both in-house and outpatient bases
  • Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery of patients
  • Administer medications
  • Assist in procedures
  • Position and capture radiographs
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members (both verbally and in writing)
  • Fear Free handling: ensuring safe, stress-free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
