Position Overview:
We are seeking to expand our team and are looking for a Veterinary Nurse (Vet Tech) with a minimum of two years of experience in emergency veterinary care to join our Emergency Department.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT credentials are preferred or an equivalent educational background.


Schedule:
Sunday through Wednesday, 10 PM - 8 AM (ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS)


For candidates without two years of emergency experience but with the necessary education and a desire to enhance their skills, we encourage you to inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic small animal medicine (including pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, and laboratory testing).
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Triage – identifying emergencies and illnesses.
  • Administer various treatments to in-house and outpatient cases.
  • Anesthesia: induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery of patients.
  • Administer medications and assist in procedures.
  • Position and capture radiographs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members (both verbally and in writing).
