Position: Veterinary Technician - Emergency Services
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician with a minimum of two years of experience in emergency veterinary care to join our Emergency Department.
Preferred qualifications include current CVT/LVT/RVT status or an equivalent educational background.
The overnight schedule for this position is:
Thursday through Saturday, 8 PM - 8 AM (*** SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE ***)
*For candidates without two years of emergency experience but with the necessary education and a desire to develop their skills, please inquire about our Talent Management Program.*
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in emergency veterinary care
- Comprehensive knowledge of basic small animal medicine (including pharmacology, proper restraint, handling, venipuncture, and laboratory testing)
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Attention to detail and a composed demeanor
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in computer skills
- Triage skills to identify emergencies and illnesses
- Administer various treatments for in-house and outpatient cases
- Manage anesthesia: induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery of patients
- Dispense medications
- Assist in medical procedures
- Position and capture radiographs
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members (both verbally and in writing)
- Utilize Fear Free handling techniques to ensure safe and stress-free interactions for all involved
