About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to serve as the Department Chair and Full Professor of Epidemiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's academic and research programs, as well as providing strategic direction and vision for the department's future growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the department's academic and research programs, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and service.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the department's mission and goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff, promoting a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other departments and units across the university to advance the school's mission and goals.
  • Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Represent the department and school in various external forums, promoting the university's reputation and interests.
Requirements
  • MD, DrPH, PhD, or related field, with a strong record of academic and research accomplishments.
  • Experience in academic leadership, with a proven track record of success in leading departments or programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective plans.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, with a strong understanding of financial management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in leading interdisciplinary research teams and collaborations.
  • Strong track record of securing external funding for research and academic programs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
