Research Associate Professor

Job Summary:

The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Research Associate Professor for a fixed term faculty position. This position will focus on leading research activities in neonatology, including neurodevelopmental outcomes and complications of prematurity. The successful candidate will develop their own research team to conduct basic, translational, or clinical research activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead research activities in neonatology, including neurodevelopmental outcomes and complications of prematurity.
  • Develop and manage their own research team to conduct basic, translational, or clinical research activities.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and clinicians to advance the field of neonatology.
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in research and academia.
  • Previous leadership experience in a research team and as a primary investigator on funded studies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in neonatology or a related field.
  • Strong publication record and a track record of securing research funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
