Job Title:

Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology to join our faculty. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in the area of drug resistance in bacterial pathogens, with a focus on biofilm-associated infections, abscesses, and diabetic wound infections. The ideal candidate will have expertise in host-pathogen interaction and be able to synergize with existing strengths in pathogens of the diabetic wound environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in the area of drug resistance in bacterial pathogens
  • Develop and implement novel drug-delivery approaches, such as ultrasound-stimulated cavitation enhanced drug delivery
  • Collaborate with existing faculty members to advance research in the area of host-pathogen interaction
  • Teach and mentor students in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or related field
  • Experience in research and teaching in the area of microbiology and immunology
  • Strong publication record and ability to secure NIH grant funding
