Exercise Science Lecturer Opportunity at Cincinnati State

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a dedicated Exercise Science lecturer to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to our students.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $660 per lecture hour for new adjuncts.

Job Description: As an Exercise Science lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching courses in the following areas: Exercise Science. Your primary duties will include:

  • Delivering learning-centered instruction to create a conducive classroom environment for student success.
  • Preparing all course materials and lessons, with varying preparation times based on instructor experience.
  • Providing clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through topical outlines and approved syllabi.
  • Designing interesting and relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes in real-life settings.
  • Suitably challenging, engaging, serving, and communicating with students to encourage participation and learning.
  • Completing grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on time.
  • Ensuring course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
  • Maintaining a record of each student's progress and making it available upon request.
  • Facilitating meaningful learning of course competencies and supporting the learning environment.
  • Promoting student success by showing flexibility and a passion for teaching and students.
  • Designing, administering, and grading examinations to assess course objectives.
  • Completing end-of-term responsibilities, including submitting final grades and other materials.
  • Consulting with academic area chairs and College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula and College policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Have at least 3 years of industry or business experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act effectively as a member of a team.
  • Be able to interact successfully with academic and business personnel.
